One month out from NRL 2007, and Craig Gower has provided the first act of stupidity. A rugby league player getting boozed and doing something dumb is not surprising. I mean, take a young man, add some fame, add some money, add some booze and . . . well . . . you do the math!
What is surprising is that Gower did not learn from his last, well documented boozy weekend. Anyway, there is bound to be a few more incidents before the year is out, it’s simply a matter of when.
Thus who are the likely candidates to get caught out next? Maybe Sione Faumuina? Possibly, but it is more likely to be a younger player that has yet to be involved in ‘night club incident’ You would hope the likes of Faumuina, Willie Mason, Gasnier etc have learnt from their mistakes. Then again, Craig Gower didn’t so anything’s possible.
